For all you die hard Shwayze and FFTL fans out there, we have an amazing contest for you. Not only is the prize stellar, but the actual work you have to do for it is FUN!

Here's the deal: if you're going out to Warped Tour, decorate your car with either Shwayze or FFTL stuff. Write on your windows, make signs, make a Shwayze ball for your atenna, etc etc. (Just don't put anything on the car that will obstruct you from driving, obviously.) Then dress the part - make shirts, shorts, skirts, hats, shoelaces, or whatever else you can think of and wear it to Warped. Take photos of you and your friends dressed up next to the car and submit it to the Warped Tour category in the Suretone community. We will choose the winner, who will receive a $50 iTunes gift card! Pretty sweet prize AND you'll be helping promote your favorite band.

TRAVIS: I think we want to get out from the pigeon-holing that genres or the scene or whatever does to a band. I’m all about kids having fun and supporting local music and underground music and everything, but the truth is I’m not 10 years old anymore. I’m going to be 27 this year and it’s not that I’m growing up, I still feel younger than most of the people that I know. But I want to start doing stuff where I’m branching out as much as I can.

THE CURE TO RELEASE NEW SINGLES THE 13TH OF EACH MONTH LEADING UP TO THE RELEASE OF THEIR 13TH STUDIO ALBUM

BAND GEARS UP FOR US TOUR KICKING OFF MAY 9TH

Santa Monica, California, May 1, 2008- The Cure, one of the most revered British bands of the past quarter-century, have unveiled their plans to release four A & B side singles, one each month starting May 13th, leading up to the release of their thirteenth studio album, as yet untitled, which will be out on Suretone/Geffen Records September 13th. It will be the bands first album of new music since 2004’s self titled album The Cure. Physical and digital singles will be available for purchase in store and on all digital partners.

Why the 13th of each month? The forthcoming album is The Cure’s thirteenth studio album... A lucky number indeed!

First single “The Only One” (released May 13th) includes the b-side “NY Trip”; second single “Freakshow” (released June 13th) includes the b-side "All Kinds Of Stuff"; neither b-side will appear on the album. Both tracks were produced by Robert Smith and Keith Uddin. July 13th and August 13th singles will be announced shortly...

The band is currently gearing up for a U.S. tour, kicking off May 9th at the Patriot Center in Washington DC (see below for complete tour itinerary.) 65daysofstatic will open on all dates.

Led as always by lead singer/guitarist Robert Smith, the Cure line-up comprises longtime members bass player Simon Gallup, drummer Jason Cooper and, back in the band for a third time, guitarist Porl Thompson.

The Cure first formed in southern England in 1976 as Easy Cure. In 1978 the Easy was dropped, and The Cure was signed to the Fiction label. In May 1979 their debut album Three Imaginary Boys was released to great acclaim.

Other landmark Cure albums include Pornography (1982), The Head on the Door (1985), Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me (1987), Disintegration (1989), Wish (1992), Wild Mood Swings (1996), the Grammy-nominated Bloodflowers (2000) and their last full length release, the self-titled set The Cure (2004). 2006 saw the Suretone/Geffen release of Festival 2005, an award winning 5.1 DVD featuring 30 songs, shot by fans, band members and professionals during the summer of 2005’s European festival run.

Buzz Bands: From First to Last

For a band whose tempestuous music always seemed to match its inner soap operas, From First to Last sounds as if its in a pretty good place these days. "It took a while for us to discover who we are as a band," says Matt Good, (far right, with Matt Manning, left, Derek Bloom and Travis Richter) the guitarist who moved over to lead vocal duties for the quartets fourth, self-titled album (due April 15). "Every time you make a record, it reflects a little bit more of your life experience and what youve been going through." In FFTLs case, theres been plenty. Singer Sonny Moore, whose vocal chord problems led to the band being excused from a tour with Atreyu in 2006, departed a year ago, and the foursome has moved to its third label, Suretone. The results of its L.A. recording sessions with Josh Abraham suggest that From First to Lasts hard-core is aging well -- the howls, growls, shouts and screams, as well as the artillery-fire bass and drums, serve as mere punctuation marks now,

Shortly after posting a bulletin on myspace, asking kids to help them pick the songs they should play on the Take Action Tour at pickRset.com, the rabid fans overloaded
the server with requests and it had to be shut down. The site showed this message to all visitors:

From First To Lasts fans are so crazy, they took down the servers trying to pick the setlists for the Take Action Tour!
