I arrived at the The Grove of Anaheim at 5 p.m. to put up Shwayze posters in the front lobby and as I walked in I noticed a huge line of more than 500 people already waiting in line. I coordinated with Shwayze’s tour manager Lauren, and the venue’s management to make sure that we were all straight for the buy and meet promotion that was going to take place after Shwayze’s set. Everything was all set, so I headed outside to hand out flyers tagging the buy and meet promotion to the ecstatic fans and the reactions I got from the fans made me realize that this wasn’t just going to be any show, but that the crowd were going to absolutely explode when Shwayze took the stage.
After an opening set from Tyga, Shwayze, Cisco, and DJ Skeet Skeet took the stage at 9:30 p.m. and when they did, the Anaheim crowd went absolutely insane. With the success of our Virgin Anaheim in store performance and CD signing last month, it was no surprise that this was one of the most intense crowds I have ever seen them perform for. Everyone sang and danced along to every song with an incredible passion and Shwayze, Cisco, and DJ Skeet Skeet fed of their energy and performed a great show. Their set began with “Polaroid” and “Don’t Be Shy” and during the songs, Shwayze and Cisco got everyone to clap their hands along to the beat. The sing along tracks “Roamin’”, “Lazy Days”, and “Lazy Susan” continued the string of well received songs and got the crowd moving even more.
“Hollywood” and “Corona And Lime” got huge responses as they began and fans waved their hands in the air during both songs. During the latter, Shwayze jumped into the crowd and performed the songs and that really got the crowd going. “Flashlight” was seemingly the last song, but Shwayze couldn’t leave the out of control Anaheim crowd without performing the fan favorites, “High Together”and “Buzzin’”. The crowd definitely showed it’s appreciation throughout the entire set. I saw a lot of smiling fans exit the venue and for the people that picked up the CD at the merch booth, the concert experience was about to get even better because they got the exclusive opportunity to meet Shwayze, Cisco, and DJ Skeet Skeet.
Shwayze, Cisco, and DJ Skeet Skeet made their way to the merch table and quickly began meeting with the 115 fans that bought their CD that night. The guys were amazing to their fans and showed appreciation for them by giving them hand shakes, hugs, autographs, and taking pictures with nearly ever fan that came through the line. In total, 115 units of Shwayze were sold as part of the buy and meet promotion and the CD signing after the show couldn’t have gone any smoother.
Thanks to everyone from Suretone and The Grove that helped to set up the successful buy and meet promotion. I heard fans talking about how excited they are for Shwayze, Cisco, and DJ Skeet Skeet to return to Anaheim in November and I know I can’t wait to see them again; they are truly a pleasure to work with. Please enjoy the pictures and let me know if you need any additional information.
